A boost for the Isle of Man: The Strand shopping centre to open
Abstract
The Isle of Man may be prosperous but, paradoxically, it has a pretty poor retailing scene. Most of the wealthy inhabitants spend their money away from the island. This is all about to change, however, with the opening of the Strand shopping centre, later this year. Built by Royal Life at a cost of £8.5 million, it will be the island's first fully enclosed shopping centre, and will have 50,000 sq feet of shopping space.
