Abstract
Don Cochrane faces a problem of organisation in his fast growing company: to what extent should he develop an integrated “Logistics” group. Inventory control, development of auxiliary storage locations, the possible construction of a new plant, and a host of other problems also await his attention. Cochrane is also aware of the current fashion for greater integration of the “Logistics” functions and has thought much about the issue.
