ISLANDS STYLE
Abstract
AT DAWN on May 7th, 1789, just over a week after the famous mutiny, the Bounty's launch sailed close to a reef between some uncharted islands in the South Pacific. Captain Bligh noted in his log: ‘We now observed two large sailing canoes coming swiftly after us along shore, and, being apprehensive of their intentions, we rowed with some anxiety, being sensible of our weak and defenceless state … I imagine these to be the istlands called Feejee’.
