Abstract
From a passage off historic Salisbury Square, Fleet Street, where literary and fashionable celebrities lived in the past, one reaches the London Press Club by a staircase unique in the treatment of the walls, On the first flight you are met and escorted by a Vanity Fair procession of leading figures in Victorian journalism including the Club's first President, the famous George Augustus Sala.
