World Bank — new workplace standards

Abstract

The idea of pre‐testing new workplace furniture and layouts is not new, but its potential as a force for change has hardly been fully exploited. Facilities consultant Dr Maree Simmons‐Forbes describes how she used a major workplace re‐evaluation exercise at the World Bank in Washington as a means of raising the facilities management profile — and changing fundamental assumptions about the organisation at the highetst level.
