Towards a General Theory of Pattern Recognition
Abstract
There are numerous applications in which pattern recognition is an important feature, but in the main the operator of the device used has devised by heuristic means a special theory that is only effective for the chosen application. It is suggested that it may be better to devise a general theory of pattern recognition.
