Excellon Automation Co. has reported the delivery and installation of an LVD 2001 DP PCB/PWB Laser Drilling System to the Somacis plant in Castelfidardo. As contracted, once this first machine is up and running in production, a second LVD 2001 DP to Somacis will follow later in the spring.
The Somacis Group was founded in 1972 by owners Dr Attilio Scalmati (president) and Piero Volpi (technical director). Dr Giovanni Tridenti is managing director. With headquarters in Castelfidardo, Somacis is one of the major PCB and membrane keyboard manufacturers for high tech electronics in Southern Europe.
A separate order has also been delivered to the SGCI plant in Bellegarde du Loiret, France for installation in February 2001.
Specializing in high-tech rigid multilayer PCBs with short delivery times, SGCI is the largest company of the ten units owned by the CIRE group throughout Europe. With headquarters in Bellegarde du Loiret, the CIRE group is a public limited company with a turnover of $77 million annually.
