Keywords: Ddi, Thomas Walter, Acquisition

DDi Corp. has announced that its wholly owned subsidiary DDi Europe Limited has signed an agreement to acquire Thomas Walter Limited, based in Marlow, UK.

Thomas Walter is a well-established provider of complex, quick-turn rigid and rigid-flex PCBs for the European electronics industry. The company's core competencies in time critical delivery and complex technology complement DDi's quick-turn manufacturing and assembly operations in the UK. In particular, Thomas Walter's leading edge technological expertise supports DDi's high-end microvia laser technology, which will enhance pre-production services in the company's European protoype division.

Reinforcing DDi Corp.'s international expansion objectives, Thomas Walter's established European presence will expand DDi's geographic footprint in the UK and mainland Europe, providing additional resources for servicing global accounts. Additionally, DDi expects to benefit from shared technical expertise and increased manufacturing capacity.

DDi Europe Limited will pay approximately US$30 million in cash for the business. The acquisition is subject to approval of selling shareholders. If such approval is received, the transaction is expected to close early next month.
