An expatriate Breton in Britain

Keyword: Coates

This month, Jean-Yves Salaun takes over as Chief Executive of Coates Circuit Products, and is now based at Midsomer Norton.

Jean-Yves was born in Brittany in 1953, and is a graduate of Rennes University with a Master's Degree in Electronic Engineering. He joined Du Pont de Nemours in 1976 working as a technical engineer in their photo-polymer division, and rose to Senior Industrial Account Manager for their Riston© products.

In 1990 he accepted an invitation to join Coates France S.A., as Commercial Manager in charge of the fast-growing Printed Circuit Products division. His qualities of leadership and his knowledge of the French PCB market soon resulted in Coates becoming the major supplier to the industry, a position that became consolidated and retained under his tutelage.

In 1994 Jean-Yves was appointed General Manager for both Coates Screen and Coates Electrographics operations in France, operating from their offices in St-Ouen l'Aumˆone. During these last five years he has built up a strong market position for both divisions by a combination of consistent effort, hard work, and a naturally creative instinct.

His appointment as Chief Executive for the world-wide operations of Coates Circuit Products is logical. Jean-Yves combines technical knowledge with experience, an understanding of the peb market with a gregarious personal manner, and a level of enthusiasm with which he has no problem infecting all other members of his team.
