AlliedSignal Laminate Systems announced the formation of AlliedSignal Advanced Electronic Substrate Materials (AESM), a focused business dedicated to identifying, developing, and supplying material solutions for dynamic and emerging segments of the global electronics industry.

"This is a new business with resources dedicated to the future growth segments of the electronics industry," said Steve Hochhauser, President of AlliedSignal Laminate Systems. "By leveraging our base of knowledge and technology, we are providing new solutions that enable high density interconnect applications and other emerging markets. AESM is addressing the type, rate, and direction of change for future generations of interconnect technologies," he added.

Products and services to be developed and manufactured by AlliedSignal Advanced Electronic Substrate Materials products are positioned within market segments for advanced printed wiring board laminates, chip packaging, high density interconnect (HDI) built-up multilayer, buried passives and enhanced signal integrity materials.

AlliedSignal Advanced Electronic Substrate Materials will be located in the Laminate Systems headquarters in La Crosse, Wisconsin, USA. The scope of its business will include process and product engineering and development, licensing and acquisitions. Products will be manufactured at Laminate Systems' sites around the world in order meet customer and market needs.
