ATG test systems GmbH has announced the sale of this privately held electronic test system manufacturer to Everett Charles Technologies (ECT).
The announcement was made at ATG corporate headquarters in Wertheim, Germany, by Mr Ralf Huth, President and CEO, Mr Manfred Prokopp, Founding President, and Mr Uwe Rothaug, Technology Director for ATG. Mr Huth said, "ATG test systems' product breadth and worldwide marketing and customer service operations would be strengthened by the alliance with another strong ATE supplier". Mr Prokopp noted that "Increased opportunity for development of advanced products will result from the combined technical talents of the organizations". ATG's European-based executive management team will remain essentially in the same roles.
A leading supplier of universal grid and flying probe test systems for unpopulated (bare) printed circuit boards, ATG was founded in 1979.
Also present for the announcement, Mr Dave Van Loan, CEO and President of Everett Charles Technologies said, "The interconnection test industry faces demands imposed by advancing product technologies, improved quality systems, and shrinking lead times. Our customers have grown into global organizations. The combination of talents in R&D and manufacturing with substantial financial and organizational resources will permit ECT to rapidly deliver advanced products and services to our global customers. One immediate impact of this alliance is the substantial enhancement of the combined worldwide service network. New and existing customers can expect improved service, efficiency, product availability and the benefits of coordinated innovations. We welcome ATG products and people as valuable and promising additions that widen the range of test products and services offered to our customers."
