Change of ownership for Pier Professional
Article Type: Note from the publisher From: The British Journal of Forensic Practice, Volume 13, Issue 2
We are pleased to announce a change of ownership for Pier Professional Limited with immediate effect. Pier has recently been purchased by Emerald Group Publishing Limited (www.emeraldinsight.com), a leading international publisher headquartered in the north of England.
This is an exciting development for Emerald, and we would like to assure you that we are committed to both the ongoing development of the journals and to the editorial teams spearheading them. We have over 40 years’ experience developing and supporting journals and our focus is on quality, rigour and relevance. We also pride ourselves on building and maintaining strong editorial relationships with Editors, Editorial Boards and Authors, and are very much looking forward to working with you, picking up on the excellent work of the former Directors to develop the titles to their full potential.
Emerald is an international publisher of over 280 peer-reviewed journals, and we publish over 140 new books every year. Our subject focus has expanded in recent years and we now publish under the broad headings of: Business, Management and Economics; Library and Information Studies; Social Sciences; Engineering; Language and Linguistics; and Transport. We have an existing list of journals and books in the fields of social and health care management and are committed to developing this portfolio further – our acquisition of the Pier Professional titles is an important step in forging stronger links with researchers and practitioners in these areas.
Emerald has an international reach with offices, customers and authors all over the world. We value and encourage the exchange of ideas between practice and research, which is a key focus of our publishing philosophy. Community building is also a priority area for us, and we are excited to welcome the Pier Professional titles to our portfolio in order to develop our presence in this particular community.
You can learn more about Emerald on our web site www.emeraldinsight.com. As well as journal and book information, you can access tables of contents for all of our titles and read article abstracts free of charge. Please feel free to explore our search interface. When we move content onto the Emerald platform in the medium term, this journal will be searchable alongside all other Emerald titles, helping to increase dissemination, usage and visibility of papers.
Please feel free to contact Emerald with any immediate questions you have over the change of ownership – we would be delighted to talk to you. We look forward to working with you over the coming months and years on the publication and ongoing development of the journals. We are sure that, working together, we can continue and build on the journals’ success.
