Association of Canadian Archivists/Archives Association of Ontario Conference '99 Measuring Up: Standards in Archival Practice, 3-5 June 1999, London, Ontario

This conference seeks to explore the increasing number and variety of ways in which archivists apply standards of practice in their work. "Standard" is broadly defined as a principle, rule, requirement or ideal having recognised authority. When used as a basis of comparison, it is accepted as a measure by which to judge and decide the quality, value or worth of something. Some standards require compliance, others are voluntary.
