Underlining its commitment to provide a comprehensive service to its customers, Mayflower Technology has invested in a new Trumatic L4060 high- speed laser-cutting centre.
The performance of the latest- generation 6 kW machine, said to be the first in the UK, will allow Mayflower to cut thicker materials: aluminium – up to 15 mm, titanium – 6 mm stainless steel – 25 mm and mild steel – 25 mm, quickly and efficiently. It can also process thinner sheet at high speeds – up to 40 m min.
Accommodating a work piece up to 4,000 mm × 2,000 mm; laser power during cutting is regulated in such a way that even small holes, slits and tight contours can reportedly be cut without oxide or burrs.
Mayflowers Sales Director, Karl Stewart explains: “The new Trumpf laser cutting centre will form a key part of our long term expansion programme and will enhance the capacity of the companys existing four laser cutting systems”.
