Accurate Cutting Services has installed the largest block band saw in the UK to meet the growing cutting needs of the aerospace and metals testing industries.
Developed from the Kasto BBS 1060/2060 vertical saw, Accurate Cutting Services (ACS) worked with manufacturers to refine the machine's capabilities to produce a vertical bandsaw to handle large and heavy work.
The new machine is said to be ideal for longitudinal cutting up to six metres and combines improved tolerance cuts with reduced material loss.
Fitted with external material handling to manipulate large and irregular shaped items, the block band saw has automatic blade deviation monitoring to ensure consistent accuracy through each cut.
Recognised as the country's leading precision sawing company to the aerospace and automotive industries, ACS is a member of the Lancashire Aerospace Consortium, and has plants in both Lancashire and the Midlands.
The company provides a total cutting solution for most metal working applications where accuracy, cost-efficient production and reduced material loss are required.
Specialists in sub-contracting metal sawing, ACS can work with most machinable materials, including aluminium, carbon and alloy steels, brasses, copper phosphor bronze, as well as matrix metal composites, niobium, titanium, zirconium, lithium, and non metals, graphite/engineering plastics.
