Milwaukee-based Derco Aerospace (tel: +1 414 355 3066) has become an authorized F-5/T-38 parts supplier under a new licensing agreement with Northrop Grumman Corporation, the original manufacturer of the legendary series of fighter and advanced trainer aircraft.

The licence allows Derco to manufacture, support and supply a significant number of government-certified parts and assemblies for the F-5 and T-38, but Northrop Grumman retains the rights to proprietary structural airworthiness items covered under the US Air Force Structural Upgrade Program contract and parts peculiar to the RF-5E reconnaissance aircraft. In addition, Northrop Grumman will continue to provide total systems integration for spare parts, support services and technical assistance to countries wishing to modernize their F-5/T-38 fleets with structural or avionics upgrades.

Under the licensing agreement, Derco is being given access to company F-5/T-38 structural drawings, specifications, processes, vendors, and engineering support to ensure that all parts meet Northrop Grumman quality standards.
