Mountain Optech, Inc. now offer a 23 Gigabyte rugged removable magnetic disk drive. This is the largest commercially available hard drive, which Mountain Optech ruggedizes for reliable performance in severe environments. The SE-23000 HDR is designed for harsh applications and operates under severe shock and vibration in all attitudes. Engineered in a standard 3/4 avionics transport requirement (ATR), the SE-23000 HDR features a removable hard drive module. A non-removable version is available in a 5/8 ATR enclosure.

The SE-23000 HDR has been selected for an airborne radar data collection program. Coupled with Mountain Optech's intelligent controller, the unit can collect data at 5MB/sec. It is the perfect choice for mission critical applications that require a reliable, high capacity storage unit. The drives can function in a variety of extreme environments including military and space mission control logging, commercial and military aircraft applications, transport of"on-the-move" operational systems, and field deployable logistics support systems.

The SE-23000 HDR operates in all attitudes and is designed to meet MIL-E-5400 for shock and vibration. Temperature firmware and heaters provide wide operating temperature range. Built-in fans provide cooling for a wide operating temperature range. Conformal coating of the electronics provides moisture resistance, fungus resistance and reduces susceptibility to salt-fog as well as other environmental contaminants. Mountain Optech's proprietary intelligent SCSI data controller can provide increased throughput and an 8MB caching DRAM.
