Dunlop Aviation agreement with Fairchild Dornier for DO328 Jet
Dunlop Aviation agreement with Fairchild Dornier for DO328 Jet
Dunlop Aviation has signed a memorandum of agreement with Fairchild Dornier to develop wheels, carbon brakes and brake control systems for the new DO328 Jet.
The agreement was signed at the Coventry factory of Dunlop Aviation in the course of a visit by the German project team led by Reinhold Birrenbach, vice president, engineering and Eckehard Fedrow, vice president, procurement. The team flew into Coventry Airport in their own DO328 turboprop, the precursor of the DO328 Jet, and members of the Dunlop Aviation project team were invited to join a flight over the city while the signing ceremony took place.
The DO328 Jet is a derivative of the DO328-110 turboprop, powered by twoPratt & Whitney PW306B turbofans. It is due to start flight trials early in 1998, with certification as a 30-34 seater regional transport scheduled to follow by February 1999.
