IMI Marston receives star supplier award from Lockheed Martin

IMI Marston's Aerospace Heat Transfer Group has become the first company outside North America to be awarded "Star supplier" status by Lockheed Martin, one of the world's leading aerospace companies.

Midlands-based IMI Marston has been supplying Lockheed Martin with oil coolers for the new Hercules C130J military transport since 1994.

The programme has been developed to recognise "like-minded" companies who commit to continuous improvement and maintain standards of excellence in the areas of quality, cost and schedule.

Comments Marston quality manager Richard Winstone:

"Star supplier" status is recognised by all Lockheed companies. To achieve such accreditation you have to be an exemplary supplier and pass a series of demanding audits including SPC System certification and demonstration of a perfect acceptance track record of zero rejection, at source, over six months.
