New resource – developing service user focused outcomes in dual diagnosis: a practical tool

This new resource aims to support delivery of quality services for people with dual diagnosis. More specifically, it seeks to improve recording of service user defined outcomes: service users played a key role in its development. The resource comprises an outcomes framework document and materials to support facilitation of local workshops: a facilitator’s resource and slides. It is suggested that workshops can be used to bring together local stakeholders with a view to identifying how the principles in the framework can inform local commissioning and service provision and, therefore, service user outcomes.
Five main outcome domains are identified: commissioning, service delivery and design; engagement; assessment; treatment; recovery and relapse prevention.
