Expanding the surface finishing approach to market PAL: Enthone sign a strategic agreement

Process Automation International Ltd (PAL) has formally signed a distributor agreement with Enthone Inc. giving them exclusive rights to market and sell PAL surface finishing automated plating equipment throughout Europe including Turkey and the whole of the former Soviet Union. The newly signed agreement, which also covers Egypt and South Africa, does not cover the PCB, anodising, cleaning and phosphating industries.

“We have made tremendous strides in the surface finishing industry in the last few years,” explains Geoff Paterson, Managing Director of Hong Kong-based PAL. “Indeed well over 80 transporter-operated PAL surface finishing machines, including a 97 m-long ‘giant’ have been delivered to 17 countries. This new relationship will enable PAL to obtain increased exposure and sales in the European plating on plastic, zinc plating and decorative nickel chrome markets and allows Enthone to take advantage of our expertise and large capacity in plant design, manufacture and installation.

Jim Robertson, Director Sales and Marketing Europe – Enthone, Cookson Electronics echoes Geoff Paterson’s beliefs: ““Enthone will be able to use these resources to enable them to provide a ‘total package’ approach for their existing and new customers. Our 50+-strong European sales force will give excellent coverage of the available markets, providing local language skills, complemented by their highly competent technical and sales expertise. It is a classic win-win situation with process chemistry and plant designed to work together from the outset. We look forward to going from strength to strength with our new partners.”

Enthone, Inc. is a Cookson Electronics company, a division of Cookson Group plc, London. Cookson delivers superior value by providing truly differentiated products, services and support. They have a large and experienced technical sales team operating from world-class local facilities with the leading range of high performance functional and decorative coating technologies.

PAL established a dedicated surface finishing team, headed by Tony Evans, in 2003 and has seen sales rocket worldwide as a result of the team’s dedication and determination.

“Our secret to success lies in working closely with our customer,” explains Geoff Paterson. “We thrive on being involved in their early planning so we are, in effect, their in-house machine development team, working with them to ensure the machine we design and build for them not only matches but exceeds their expectations. Our expertise in ensuring that our machines deliver top quality plating and improve productivity is winning us orders over and over again.”

Nearly 1500 PAL automated plating machines have been delivered all over the world for the PCB, semi conductor and surface finishing industries.
