Two highly successful CP conferences were held under the auspices of the Institute of Corrosion in Birmingham during the 1980s. Both Conferences resulted in books of the proceedings (Cathodic Protection Theory and Practice, eds Ashworth, V and Booker CJL, Ellis Horwood, London 1986, and Cathodic Protection Theory and Practice, eds Ashworth, V and Googan, CG, Ellis Horwood, London 1993). More recently a highly successful conference in UMIST in February 2003 and this forthcoming event will build on this previous meeting. The following have already agreed to come and talk at this forthcoming meeting; Vic Ashworth (Ashworth Corrosion Management), Peter Aylott (CAPCIS), Chris Page (University of Leeds), Chris Atkins (Mott McDonald), John Broomfield, Bryan Wyatt (Corrosion Control), Mike Walsh (GATE Llc), Grant Gibson (GATE Llc), Gareth Glass (Faber Maunsell Ltd), Chris Googan (Anticorrosion Engineering Ltd), Robin Jacob (The Corrosion Consultancy Limited), Dan Kirkwood (University of Strathclyde), John Dyson, (Transco Ltd).
