ASM International launches Practical Failure Analysis™Keywords: ASM International, Problem solving
ASM International, in cooperation with the International Metallographic Society (IMS Inc.), began publishing a new bi-monthly periodical Practical Failure Analysis in February 2001. The peer-reviewed portion of the journal features articles that demonstrate the importance of failure analysis to product-performance improvement and industrial problem solving. The publication provides information about techniques, technical analysis and emerging tools that will assist failure analysis professionals in determining the cause of failures and eliminating failures in the future. Other sections include new products/applications and a calendar of training seminars and events.
The periodical accepts contributions in the areas of: failure analysis/prevention techniques, test to prevent failures; cross-functional case histories; new equipment/processes and new applications for existing equipment; education/training; lab reports; forensics; field evaluation and sampling; reviews of classic failures.
A year's subscription (six issues) to the periodical is US$125 for ASM members and US$400 for non-members. Further information may be obtained from ASM International, 9639 Kinsman Road, Materials Park, Ohio. Tel: (440) 338 5151; Fax: (440) 338 8542; Web site: www.asminternational.org
