TW Metals increases bar stocks

Keywords TW Metals, Stainless steel

Specialist metals distributor, TW Metals Ltd has announced further investment in its stocks of stainless steel bar used primarily for manufacturing components for the pump, valve and flow metering industries (Plate 4).

Plate 4 TW Metals' increased stocks of bar steel can be supplied cut to component length

Held as round section in a size range up to 305mm and in stainless steel grades 304/304L and 316/316L, all TW Metals' stainless bar claim enhanced machinability. This reportedly means that higher cutting speeds can be achieved, with less tool wear without jeopardising key properties such as corrosion resistance and mechanical strength. Bar is available in mill lengths, can be supplied cut to component length or, if required, with first stage machining having been completed.

The increased capability in stainless bar is further complemented by a range of nickel alloy round bar held in sizes up to 200mm by the Philip Comes Group who were recently acquired by TW Metals. Philip Comes is a UK distributor and processor of nickel alloy, super alloy and high temperature stainless steels.
