ImageID Unveils the Visidot™ 2.0 automatic identification and data capture solution

ImageID Ltd has announced the upcoming release of Visidot 2.0, the latest version of the company's automatic identification and data capture (AIDC)-based system for rapid, accurate and cost-effective identification and tracking of multiple assets (Figure 2).

Visidot Incorporates unique 2D data matrix barcode labeling of crates and pallets. Barcodes can either be embedded in standard shipping labels or printed using almost any industry- standard barcode formatting software and printer. Labeled crates and pallets are then transported past Visidot Readers, which simultaneously capture hundreds of labels in single reads, then transmit information to image processing systems capable of rapidly decoding captured data. The decoded data can then easily be exported to data management systems in either XML or any other standard format. Captured images can also be stored in separate image banks, which may be referred to as proof of shipment, and can enable detailed inventory and shipped item condition analysis.

Visidot 2.0 will be released on January 15, 2007. An open traceability solution, Visidot 2.0 makes significant use of Microsoft Dot.net technology and utilizes Microsoft Web services to easily and rapidly establish connections between Visidot Readers and third- party applications.

“The new version of Visidot will generally offer broader support for a variety of Industry-standard product labeling technologies,” states Dror Irani, ImageID CEO. “It will provide even better asset verification and tracking, while enabling error-free logistics, reduced labor costs and processing time, greater compliance with traceability regulations and increased customer satisfaction.”
