Applicant: Shinko Electric Co. Ltd (JP)Patent number: JP11294503Publication date: 29 October 1999Title: Positioning device of automated guided vehicle

The problem addressed by the patent is to position an automated guided vehicle securely at an optional stopping position on a track. During travelling, a control unit drives a linear motor drive, and puts a solenoid in the ON position. A stopper lever is magnetically attracted to the solenoid against a spring during travelling, by which it is separated from a travelling roller. Next, the control unit stops the linear motor drive as a predetermined stopping position is reached, and puts the solenoid in the OFF position. Since the solenoid has no attraction force, the stopper lever is pushed by the spring to abut to the travelling roller. As a result, a braking force is applied to the travelling roller, whereby a positional deviation of the automated guided vehicle in a stop position can be avoided.
