New from Intertronics is a fully automatic, benchtop impulse welding robot (see Plate 11).

The Fisnar I&J500-IW is ideal for a range of applications including joining plastic parts, affixing plastic parts on to sheet metal, and attaching printed circuit boards to plastic panels. The robot can also be used for welding thermoplastic resins and glass filled ABS (up to 30 per cent).

Because the welding tip is heated for only a short period of time, the unit is highly energy efficient.

The I&J500-IW is supplied complete with ready-to-use software, teach pendant and a memory card for storage of up to ten programs.
