Divisions weaken both of Argentina's main coalitions

Significance
The ruling Frente de Todos (Front of All, FdT) coalition is increasingly fractured. However, tensions are also rising in opposition coalition Juntos por el Cambio (Together for Change, JxC) due to the re-emergence of former President Mauricio Macri and the threat from the libertarian right led by Javier Milei.
Impacts
- The UCR, PRO’s main coalition partner in JxC, will resist a shift of the coalition to the right.
- JxC has explicitly rejected the incorporation of Milei, but the coalition’s right wing will continue to explore that possibility.
- Kirchnerism’s split into a separate bloc in the Senate has deprived Fernandez of a majority in both houses.
- Boosted by rising anti-establishment sentiments, Milei’s rise will damage JxC, but he will also attract Peronist voters.
