Retraction notice: Asymmetry in the prices of crude oil and diesel and gasoline prices in Brazil

The publisher of the Journal of Economic Studies wishes to retract the article by Gerrio Barbosa, Daniel Sousa, Cássio da Nóbrega Besarria, Robson Lima and Diego Pitta de Jesus (2023) “Asymmetry in the prices of crude oil and diesel and gasoline prices in Brazil”, published in the Journal of Economic Studies, Vol. 51 No. 1, pp. 71–95, https://doi.org/10.1108/JES-08-2022-0437. It has come to our attention that a large portion of this article is taken, without full and proper attribution, from an earlier work by Francisco Teixeira Raeder, “Assimetria na transmissão de preços da gasolina no brasil: os efeitos do mandato de etanol e o papel da estratégia de precificação da petrobras” (https://app.uff.br/riuff/handle/1/24291?locale-attribute=en). The submission guidelines for the Journal of Economic Studies make it clear that articles must be original. The authors Gerrio Barbosa, Daniel Sousa, Cássio da Nóbrega Besarria, and Robson Lima would like it to be noted that they were not aware of this situation and that the author Diego Pitta de Jesus takes full responsibility for the matter. The publisher of the journal sincerely apologizes to the readers.
