Law firm wins award for excellent learning and development

Article Type: Notes and news From: Industrial and Commercial Training, Volume 46, Issue 2

Norton Rose Fulbright won the excellence in learning and development prize in the latest Law Society awards.

The practice was recognized as the first law firm to achieve a single, unified, global learning and development strategy.

Carolann Edwards, global director of learning and organizational development at Norton Rose Fulbright, commented: “With offices in more than 50 cities, it is a great achievement to have implemented a global learning and development strategy.”

“Our global curriculum is designed to help our lawyers to understand the common culture, systems and processes of the practice and to ensure consistent quality of service to clients wherever they are in the world. The learning and development programs have been integral to the successful integration of our international offices. Thus we have just successfully launched the first of our international academies in the United States.”

Norton Rose Fulbright’s learning and development curriculum consists of six international academies plus modular development programs and short courses tailored to meet the needs of each of its principal regions and role levels. Clients participate in open training courses alongside Norton Rose Fulbright lawyers.

Carolann Edwards continued: “This award results from the hard work and dedication of our in-house team members who research, design and deliver 95 percent of all the training we provide to our partners, associates, business-services staff, secretaries and clients.”
