Software Packages: Tools for Management Productivity

Abstract

Microcomputers, with the right software, provide a powerful tool for managers to accumulate, sort and analyse information. The necessity for managers to understand and use microcomputers is discussed and, more importantly, managers need to realise that the “right” software used with a microcomputer is the key to improving managerial productivity. Specific sections cover the need for managers to understand information technology; what can be expected from the technology; points on choosing the right software, and a discussion of three “intelligent” software packages.
