Abstract

Purpose

The purpose of the paper is to discuss the dilemma of choice and the risks of technology evaluation.

Design/methodology/approach

The author uses the buying process of a TV as an example.

Findings

At all costs the act and the process of evaluation must not take precedence over the decision that results from it.

Originality/value

Provides an interesting example of the dilemma of choice.
