No compromise on security at Halton Borough Council
Abstract
Halton Borough Council, a unitary local authority located in Cheshire, is now using the WatchGuard LiveSecurity System (firewall‐based Internet security) to give four public libraries access to the Internet via its corporate network. The new solution has enabled the council to implement central government initiatives for community access without compromising security. The system is proving remarkably cost‐effective, with initial investment and ongoing maintenance costs being many times less than for alternative firewall solutions.
